The Energy Transition Act (SB 489), sponsored by Senators Mimi Stewart and Jacob Candelaria and Representative Nathan Small, AND personally negotiated by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, is a key part of New Mexico's clean energy priority.
It closes the arcane San Juan Generating Station and puts New Mexico on the right path of becoming a leader in clean energy, by requiring 100% of New Mexico's power to come from carbon-free sources by 2045.
It's the energy transition New Mexico has been waiting for.
